AD/BAe 146/126 Flight Deck ECS Grilles (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | All Model BAe 146 and Avro 146-RJ Series aircraft with modification HCM00674A incorporated. |
Requirement: | Accomplish modification action in accordance with BAe Systems Service Bulletin 25-495-60730A original issue, or later EASA approved revision. Note: EASA AD 2006-0342 refers. |
Compliance: | Within six months after 15 February 2007. |

Background: | There are four ECS grilles located in the flight deck side consoles. Detachment of grilles has occurred during flight. The possibility exists that a loose grille could foul the rudder pedals and interfere with rudder/brake control. |
