The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/B767/255 | Nacelle Strut and Wing Structure - RR Engines | 4/2010 |
Applicability: | Model 767 series aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 series engines, line numbers 1 through 663. |
Requirement: | Modify in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2000-19-09 Amdt 39-11910. Note: Boeing Service Bulletin 767-54-0082, or later FAA approved revision, refers. |
Compliance: | As specified in the Requirement document. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 26 February 2010. | |
Background: | This Directive requires modification of the nacelle strut and wing structure. This action is necessary to prevent fatigue cracking in primary strut structure and consequent reduced structural integrity of the strut. This new Directive reflects the requirements of AD/B767/130 which was inadvertently cancelled during the cancellation of AD/B767/78 Amdt 1; in response to FAA AD 2010-03-08. |
