This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 June 2006.

Background:

The FAA received reports of numerous fractures of the main landing gear (MLG) bogie beam pivot pins, and reports that some pivot pins may have had improper rework during manufacture.  Fracture of a MLG bogie beam pivot pin could lead to loss of the MLG truck during takeoff or landing, and consequent loss of control of the aircraft.
