AD/B767/206 Waste Tank Cradle (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Boeing 767 Series Aeroplanes

AD/B767/206 Waste Tank Cradle 3/2005

Applicability:	Model 767-300 series aircraft, as listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-38A0062, dated 15 August 2002; and Model 767-400ER series aircraft, as listed in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-38A0063, dated 15 August 2002.
Requirement:	Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2004-25-10 Amdt 39-13898.
Compliance:	Within 18 months after 17 March 2005.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 17 March 2005.
Background:	This Directive requires replacement of the waste tank cradle tie-rods and certain other actions.  This is necessary to prevent possible failure of the main deck floor stanchions and consequent collapse of the main floor during an emergency landing, which could result in passenger injury and impede passenger evacuation from the aircraft.
