| This Amendment becomes effective on 3 August 2006. | |
Background: | The FAA received reports of worn and damaged door latches and disconnect housings in the off-wing escape slide compartments. Non-deployment of an escape slide during an emergency could slow down the evacuation of the aircraft and result in injury to passengers or flight crew. Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related FAA AD, which revises applicability by introducing a later revision of the referenced service bulletin which removes aircraft not subject to the identified unsafe condition. |
