AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/B737/285 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes

AD/B737/285 Amdt 2 State of Design Airworthiness Directives 10/2006

Applicability:

Boeing Model 737-100 and -200 series aeroplanes.

Requirement:

1.    If not previously accomplished, determine the applicability of the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness Directives (AD) listed in Table 1.

2.    If it is determined that a FAA ADs is applicable and has not been previously accomplished, perform the actions required by that AD.

Compliance:

For Requirements 1 and 2 - Within 30 days after the effective date of this Amendment.

This Amendment becomes effective on 28 September 2006.

Background:

The FAA ADs listed in Table 1 of this Directive require one time actions for which the compliance date and/or period has passed.  CASA has determined that these ADs may be applicable to recently registered Australian aircraft.  This Directive is issued to ensure all State of Design ADs have been complied with.

Amendment 1 introduced two additional FAA ADs (89-22-04 and 2001-16-11) to Table 1.  These were entered in error as Australian ADs have been issued in relation to those ADs.

This amendment introduces two additional FAA ADs (75-24-09 and 96-22-11) which were omitted from the original issue of this Directive.

Amendment 1 of this AD became effective on 31 August 2006.

The original issue of this AD became effective on 8 June 2006.
