AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/B737/28 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Boeing 737 Series Aeroplanes

AD/B737/28 Amdt 2 Flight Attendant Seats 10/2006

Applicability:

All model 737 aircraft equipped with Burns Aerospace Corporation (Trans Aero) flight attendant seats part number 90835.

Requirement:

Inspect seat pan roller fittings in accordance with Burns Aerospace SB No 113, Revision D, dated 14 May 1993, or later FAA approved revision.

Note 1:  FAA AD 89-14-11 Amdt 39-6256 refers.

Note 2:  Replacement in accordance with paragraph C. 5. of Revision D of the Service Bulletin constitutes terminating action.

Compliance:

At intervals not exceeding18 months, unless replacement in accordance with paragraph C. 5. of Revision D of the Service Bulletin is accomplished. Such replacement is terminating action.

This Amendment becomes effective on 28 September 2006.

Background:

Amendment 1 of this AD called up Revision A of the Service Bulletin which specified inspection, but no Terminating Action.  This Amendment calls up Revision D of the Service Bulletin, which includes the option of a replacement which constitutes terminating action.
