Turbomeca Turbine Engines - Astazou Series
| AD/ASTAZOU/5 | Return to Service for Civil Use | 7/2005 |
Applicability: | ASTAZOU IIIA Turboshaft engines originally assembled by Turbomeca and previously used by a military or state operator. |
Requirement: | Comply with the requirements of French DGAC Airworthiness Directive (AD) Note: French Airworthiness Directive F-2005-047 approved under EASA reference No 2005-1919 dated 22 February 2005 refers. |
Compliance: | Unless previously accomplished, within 30 days after the effective date of this AD. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 July 2005. | |
Background: | The ASTAZOU IIIA turboshaft engines which have been previously used by an operator, who is not under the control of a National Aviation Authority (NAA) are not considered to be airworthy. The configuration of these engines may not conform to the approved type design, especially concerning the modification standard, the applied repair schemes or the maintenance program for critical parts. The approved operating limits may also have been exceeded on these engines. This AD sets the condition for returning these engines to service under a civil regime. |
