AD/APU/3 Incorporation of Back-Up Plate to Improve Turbine Wheel Containment Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/APU/3.

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 18 December 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1983 against Garrett Turbine Engine Company Service Bulletin (SB) No. GTCP36-49-5323 R2 requiring a modification following an uncontained turbine disc separation by providing a back-up plate and longer nozzle bolts to improve the containment strength of the aft shroud.

Compliance was prior to 1 July 1984.

As all affected aircraft would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
