Ad/AMD 10/26 - Wing Anti-Ice Hoses (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AMD Falcon 10 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/AMD 10/26 | Wing Anti-Ice Hoses | 10/2006 |
Applicability: | Dassault Aviation Falcon 10 Aircraft. |
Requirement: | 1. For aircraft fitted with wing anti-ice flexible hoses part number (P/N) FAL1005D which have been placarded prohibiting flight in icing conditions along with a Aeroplane Flight Manual (AFM) Limitation section revision as detailed in Requirement 1 of AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1: a. Incorporate SB (SB) Fl0 - 313 revision 1. b. Remove the prohibition placard and associated AFM Limitation section that was installed as detailed in AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1. 2. For aircraft fitted with wing anti-ice flexible hoses P/N FAL1005D, monitored every 10 flights during which the anti ice system has been activated as detailed in Requirement 2 of AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1: Incorporate SB Fl0 - 313 revision 1. 3. For aircraft fitted with wing anti-ice flexible hoses P/N FAL1007 hoses: Replace the hose at the interval detailed in the compliance section 3 of this AD. Incorporation of SB F10-313 revision 1 is a terminating action for AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1. Note: EASA AD 2006-0114 dated 10 May 2006 refers. |
Compliance: | 1. Within 330 flight hours or 7 months, which ever occurs first, following the effective date of this AD. 2. Within 330 flight hours or 7 months, which ever occurs first, following the effective date of this AD, without exceeding 10 flights during which the anti ice system has been activated since the last inspection of the hoses. 3. At intervals not to exceed 700 flight hours. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 September 2006. |
Background: | AD/AMD 10/25, currently at amendment 1, was issued following the discovery of a wing anti-ice flexible hose collapsed on an in-service Falcon 10. The hose had collapsed because of internal ply separation of the flexible hose. The consequence on the aircraft of these collapsed hoses might be insufficient anti-icing not detected by the system. Ice accretion on the wing might then occur and might jeopardize the performance and safety of the aeroplane. Further incidents led to a shortened temporary periodicity of inspection of 10 flights during which the anti ice system has been activated. The installation of an improved flexible hose, P/N FAL 1007 was previously approved with a life limit of 90 flights during which the anti ice system has been activated. This AD mandates, as a terminating action, to replace the old FAL1005D hoses with new FALl007 hoses. The FAL1007 hose now has a life limitation of 700 flight hours. The incorporation of the new FAL1007 hoses will terminate the actions detailed in AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1. AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1 will be cancelled at a future date. |
