AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/AC/79 Amdt 2.

Twin Commander (Gulfstream/Rockwell/Aerocommander 500, 600 and 700) Series Aeroplanes

AD/AC/79 Amdt 2 Rudder Control Cable Fraying 9/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 28 August 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, originally raised in1983 against Gulfstream Aerospace (also known as Aero Commander) Service Bulletin (SB) No.195B, required a repetitive inspection of rudder control cables, and a subsequent terminating modification in accordance with Gulfstream Aerospace Service Information (SI) No. SI-199.  Applicability was for aircraft with more than 200 hours TIS.

Compliance was required within 25 hours TIS after 30 November 1985 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS until service information No. SI-199 has been complied with.

As the service defect reporting system has not recorded any defects in compliance with this AD since 1983, and that all affected aircraft would have been modified by now, this AD is no longer required.
