AD/AC/39 Wing Front Spar Lower Cap - Inspection 8/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 31 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1968 required a radiographic inspection of the wing front spar lower cap between stations 67 and 86, left and right hand sides, to detect damage or double drilled holes, poor rivet fit or cracking.  This requirement followed a spar failure investigation that revealed a double drilled hole in the area from which a fatigue crack had developed.  Compliance was required within 100 hours TIS after 22 February 1968.  As all affected aircraft would have been inspected, and, if necessary, modified long ago, this AD is no longer required.
