AD/AC/101 Fuel Filler Openings (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Models 500, 500A, 500B, 500U, 520, 560, 560A, 560E, 560F, 680, 680E, 680F, 680F(P), 680FL(P), and 720 Serial Numbers (S/N 1 through 1854); and Models 500S (S/N 1755 through 3323), 680FL (S/N 1261 through 1853), 685 (S/N 12001 through 12066), and 700 (S/N 70001 through 70032) aeroplanes equipped with reciprocating engines. |
Requirement: | Modify all fuel filler opening(s) in accordance with the applicable instructions contained in Gulfstream Service Information No. SI-209A dated 7 June 1988. Note: FAA AD 87-21-07R1 Amdt 39-5741 dated 5 May 1989 refers. |
Compliance: | Within 12 months from the effective date of this AD, unless previously accomplished. |

Background: | The action detailed in this AD is intended to prevent misfueling of the aeroplane resulting in engine failure. |
