AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/AC/101.

Twin Commander (Gulfstream/Rockwell/Aerocommander 500, 600 and 700) Series Aeroplanes

AD/AC/101 Fuel Filler Openings 11/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 23 October 2008.

Background:

This AD required the modification of the fuel filler opening to prevent misfueling of the aircraft.  A review of the AD in the context of Australian operations has determined that the requirement does not prevent misfueling of the aircraft in all circumstances.  The requirement to add the correct fuel to an aircraft is detailed in CAR36A which requires that the correct specification of fuel is added to the aircraft as detailed in the aircraft flight manual, placards, or other approved data.

As a result of the fact that existing rules are in place and that the modification will not prevent such an event form occurring in all circumstances, the actions previously detailed in this AD are no longer required.
