AD/A330/31 Amdt 2 Airworthiness Limitations Items Time Limits/Maintenance Checks (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/A330/31 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | All Model A330 aircraft. |
Requirement: | Amend the aircraft’s maintenance program to include the requirements defined in the Airbus A330 Airworthiness Limitations Items document AI/SE-M4/95A.0089/97 at Issue 14, approved 17 January 2006, or later EASA approved issue. Action the tasks, at the changes and special compliance times as specified in the compliance part of EASA AD 2006-0307. |
Compliance: | Within 2 months after 8 November 2006. |

Background: | The certification requirement for damage tolerant structure is provided in Airbus MPD subsection 9-2 (Airworthiness Limitations Items). Document AI/SE-M4/95A.0089/97 referenced in MPD subsection 9-2, is officially an appendix of Airbus A330 Maintenance Review Board Report. Amendment 1 introduced the latest issue of the maintenance planning document. Amendment 2 is issued in response to a new EASA AD, which introduces the latest issue of the Requirement document. The certification requirements for damage tolerant structure are now provided in the Airworthiness Limitations Section Part 2 Document. |
