AD/A320/86 Amdt 1 Toilet Systems - Rinse Valve Replacement 2/2007

Applicability:

Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 series aircraft having toilet systems equipped with Monogram Rinse Valve Part Number (PN) 15800-348, Revision C, and which have not had Airbus Industrie Modification 26145 or Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin (SB) A320-38-1049 embodied.

Requirement:

Replace, in accordance with SB A320-38-1049 dated 22 January 1997 or later DGAC approved revisions, all Monogram rinse valves PN 15800-348 Revision C installed on toilet(s).

Note:  DGAC Airworthiness Directive 97-269-103(B) dated 24 September 1997 refers.

Compliance:

Unless already accomplished, within 50 flight hours or one month after the effective date of this AD, whichever occurs earlier.

This Amendment becomes effective on 15 February 2007.

Background:

Leakage of water from the forward toilet system due to a faulty rinse valve can cause fluid contamination of the aircraft’s avionics bays.

The original issue of this AD became effective on 1 January 1998.
