AD/A320/36 Amdt 3 Passenger Door Lower Connection Link Bushes (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the commencement date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below repeals Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/A320/36 Amdt 2 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998 and subsection 33 (3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Airbus A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes

Applicability: | All Airbus A320 models without Modification 22422 (referred to in Airbus Service Bulletin (SB) A320-52-1027 as in force from time to time). |
Requirement: | Unless already accomplished, action in accordance with: 1. Airbus All Operators Telex 52-04 Revision 1 dated 12 October 1993 as in force at the commencement of this legislative instrument, or Airbus Industrie SB A320‑52-1047 as in force from time to time, and 2. Airbus SB A320-52-1027 as in force from time to time, limited to the installation of kit number 521027A02 on all doors. Note 1: This AD is based on DGAC AD 93-207-048(B) R1. Note 2: The words “as in force from time to time” require compliance with the most recent version of the referenced document. |
Compliance: | 1. Within 450 hours time in service after 19 January 1994 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 900 hours time in service until aircraft is modified. 2. Within 3500 hours time in service after 19 January 1994. Note 3: Compliance with the original AD remains unchanged. |

Background: | During an emergency evacuation, one of the passenger doors jammed in a near closed position against the fuselage structure. Subsequent investigation found that the lower connecting link bush had migrated. Amendment 1 corrected the repeat inspection compliance time. Amendment 2 revised the Requirement references. |
