AD/A320/208 MLG Door Keel Beam Hinge and Actuator Fitting (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Model A318, A319, A320, and A321 aircraft, all serial numbers up to and including 2850, except serial numbers 0115, 0184, 0782, 1151, 1190, 2650, 2675, 2706, 2801, and 2837. |

Background: | Reports were received of several cases of cracks on the main landing gear door hinge fitting and main landing gear door actuator fitting on the keel beam. Such cracking could lead to failure and result in loss of the main landing gear door which could cause damage to the aircraft and/or hazard to persons or property on the ground. |
