Airbus Industrie A319, A320 and A321 Series Aeroplanes

AD/A320/146 Amdt 3 Airworthiness Limitation Items 8/2006 DM

Applicability:

All Model A319, A320, and A321 aircraft; except A319 aircraft with Airbus modifications 28238, 28162, and 28342 incorporated in production.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of EASA AD 2006-0165.

Note:  Airbus documents AI/SE-M4/95A.0252/96 Issue 6, dated 15 July 2003, and Issue 7, dated 7 February 2006, refer.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of
20 June 2006.

This Amendment becomes effective on 20 June 2006.

Background:

The threshold and the interval figures related to the Airworthiness Limitation Items (ALI) were defined on the basis of full-scale fatigue tests.  Since then, inspection threshold and intervals have been revised as a result of a review of A320 in-service aircraft fleet mission parameters and those originally considered.

Amendment 1 clarified applicability.

Amendment 2 introduced Issue 6 of Airbus document AI/SE-M4/95A.0252/96.  Issue 6 reduces the threshold and/or the interval of some existing ALI.

Amendment 3 is issued in response to a new EASA AD, which introduces Issue 7 of Airbus document AI/SE-M4/95A.0252/96.  Issue 7 reduces the threshold and/or the interval of some existing ALI and introduces new ALI.

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 23 January 2003.
