AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/750XL/9 S-Tec X 55 Autopilot System – Disconnect 5/2007 TX

Applicability:

Model PAC 750XL aircraft, S/Ns 125, 126 and 127.

Requirement:

Disconnect the autopilot and install a placard. Pacific Aerospace Limited 750XL Alert Service Bulletin PACASB/XL/001 dated 16 February 2007 refers.

DO NOT USE

Note:  CAA(NZ) AD DAC/750XL/12 refers.

Compliance:

Before further flight after 12 March 2007.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 12 March 2007.

Background:

To prevent failure of the Autopilot System Computer resulting in the possibility of an out of trim condition, which may lead to loss of aircraft control.
