AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Pacific Aerospace 750XL Series Aeroplanes

AD/750XL/5 Outer Wing Attachments 7/2005

Applicability:

Model 750 XL aircraft, serial numbers 101 through 115.

Requirement:

Inspect the outer wing attachment lugs on the centre wing section, in accordance with Pacific Aerospace Corporation Service Bulletin PACSB/XL/015 Issue 3.

Note:  New Zealand CAA AD DCA/750XL/5 refers.

Compliance:

Within 300 hours time in service after 7 July 2005.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 July 2005.

Background:

Possible assembly tolerance stacking may have resulted in deformation which could affect the safe service life of both left and right outer wing attachment lugs.  This Directive requires inspection of the condition, alignment and clearance of both left and right centre wing to outer wing attachment lugs to ensure lug assembly is within specification.
