AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Pacific Aerospace 750XL Series Aeroplanes

AD/750XL/2 Electrical Wiring Modification 7/2005

Applicability:

Model 750XL aeroplanes serial numbers 101 through 107 inclusive.

Requirement:

If not previously accomplished, modify the electrical wiring in accordance with Pacific Aerospace Corporation Service Bulletin PACSB/XL/008 dated 8 July 2004.

Note:  CAA(NZ) AD DCA/750XL/2 refers.

Compliance:

Within 100 hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 July 2005.

Background:

The aircraft manufacturer has revised the over-current protection for the pitot heat warning light sensor and the avionic stack cooling fan system.  This is designed to prevent arcing or fire in the electrical wiring.
