[A ssented to 31 st O ctober , I960.] B E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lativeAssemblyof Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title. 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as The Acts Interpretation Acts Amendment Act of 1960.” principal (2.) The Acts Interpretation Ads, 1954 to 1957,” ° * are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Collective (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be tltK collectively cited as “ The Acts Interpretation Acts, 1954 to 1960.” Amendment 2. Section thirty-nine of the Principal Act is of 8‘ 39‘ amended by adding the following subseotion :— (4.) Subsection two of this section applies subject to this subsection.
9 E liz . II. No. 14, 1960. Acts Interpret ~ Acts, Etc., Act. Where any Act authorises any document to be served by registered post, whether the expression “ serve ”, “ give ”, “ deliver ”, or “ send ”, or any other expression is used, then, unless the contrary intention appears, the Act shall be deemed to provide that service may be effected by certified mail service as provided by the postal regulations for the time being in force.” By Authority: S.
