(STATUTORY DESIGNATIONS)

AND VALIDATION.

No. 63 of 1981.

AN ACT to alter designations of offices and departments in certain Acts and to validate acts, matters, and things done by or in relation to those offices and departments under designa- tions other than the designations applicable in relation to those offices and departments.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. This Act may be cited as the Acts Amendment ( Statutory Designations) and Validation Act 1981. Short title.

In this Act unless the contrary intention

appears

"commencement date" means the date on which

this Act comes into operation;

"Schedule" means the Schedule to this Act;

"scheduled Act" means an Act specified in column one of the Schedule as that Act was in force immediately before the commence- ment date;

"scheduled amendment" means the amendment effected to a scheduled provision pursuant to section 4 of this Act;

"scheduled provision" means the provision of a scheduled Act specified in column two of the Schedule.

Each scheduled provision is amended in the manner set forth in the scheduled amendment opposite and corresponding to the scheduled provision.

5. It is hereby declared that no act, matter, or thing done or purportedly done before the commen- cement date under a scheduled Act or by reference to a scheduled provision, as the case may be, is or ever has been invalid by reason that the act, matter, or thing done or purportedly done under the scheduled Act or by reference to a scheduled provision was done by reference to a designation of office or department other than the designation applicable to the office or department under the scheduled Act or scheduled provision as in force at the time that the act, matter or thing was done or purportedly done under that scheduled Act or by reference to that scheduled provision.
