REGULATIONS UNDER THE ACOUSTIC LABORATORIES ACT 1948.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Acoustic Laboratories Act 1948.

ACOUSTIC LABORATORIES REGULATIONS

Citation.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Acoustic Laboratories Regulations.

Definitions.

2. In these Regulations, “ the Act ” means the Acoustic Laboratories Act 1948.

Charge to be made for certain audiometric tests.

3. (1) The charge for an audiometric test to which this regulation applies that is conducted at an acoustic laboratory controlled by the Director-General is an amount of $10.

(2) An audiometric test to which this regulation applies is one that is conducted as part of the medical examination of a person who is an applicant for the grant or renewal under the Air Navigation Regulations of—

(a) a commercial pilot licence;

(b) a senior commercial pilot licence;

(c) a second class airline transport pilot licence;

(d) a first class airline transport pilot licence;

(e) a flight navigator licence;

(f) a flight radiotelephone operator licence;

(g) a flight radiotelegraph operator licence; or

(h) a flight engineer licence.

(3) Where more than one audiometric test is conducted as part of the medical examination of a person who is an applicant for the grant or renewal of a licence referred to in sub-regulation (2), sub-regulation (1) applies as if those tests together constituted an audiometric test to which this regulation applies.
