Accident Towing Services Act 2007

Accident Towing Services Amendment Regulations 2025

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Accident Towing Services Regulations 2019—

(a)as a consequence of the enactment of the West Gate Tunnel (Truck Bans and Traffic Management) Act 2019; and

(b)to make other minor and technical changes.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 223 of the Accident Towing Services Act 2007.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Accident Towing Services Regulations 2019[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions

In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, in the definition of standards for registration, for "2009" substitute "2021".

5Authorisation to attend road accident scene

After regulation 36(3)(c) of the Principal Regulations insert

"(ca)if the accident scene is on the West Gate Tunnel tollway—report the matter to the relevant West Gate Tunnel agency or to an agent of that agency; and".

6Schedule 1—Authority to tow

In Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, after "Department of Transport" insert "and Planning".
