An Act to prevent the escape from the Colony

of fraudulent Debtors. [27th July, 1849.]
WH E R E A S on any civil process on a Sunday m a n y f raudulen t Debtors

by reason of t he law t h a t no person can be ar res ted

evade p a y m e n t of their Deb t s a n d escape from the Colony F o r r emedy
whereof Be it therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of
N e w Sou th "Wales wi th t h e advice and consent of t he Legis la t ive
Counci l thereof That any wr i t of capias ad respondendum or of capias

ad satisfaciendum issued or to be issued out of t h e Supreme Cour t of t h e said Colony at Sydney or t he Supreme Cour t of the said Colony for t h e Dis t r ic t of P o r t Phi l l ip a n d any precept in t he n a t u r e of a wr i t of capias ad satisfaciendum issued or to be issued ou t of any Cour t of Reques t s in and for a n y p a r t of t h e said Colony shall and m a y respectively be lawfully executed upon a Sunday in l ike m a n n e r in all respects as t h e same respectively m a y now be executed upon any o the r day any law s t a tu te or usage to t h e cont ra ry in anywise no twi ths tand ing .
