Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment

(Regions) Order 2010

under the

Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 93 (2) of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend Schedule 5 to the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (which specifies the Regions for Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs)) to change the name of a Region so that it more accurately reflects the geographical area to which it relates and to update the name of a LALC.

This Order is made under section 93 (2) of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Aboriginal Land Rights Amendment (Regions) Order
2010.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983

(1) Schedule 5

Omit the heading “Central Coast Region”. Insert instead “Mid North Coast Region”.

(2) Schedule 5
Omit “Central Coast Region” from the matter relating to Mid North
Coast Region (as inserted by clause 3 (1) of this Order).
Insert instead “Mid North Coast Region”.
(3) Schedule 5
Omit “Ngunnawal” from the matter relating to South Coast Region.
Insert instead “Ngambri”.
