ABORIGINAL LAND RIGHTS ACT 1983 - REGULATION

(Relating to the election of members of Aboriginal Land Councils)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Aboriginal Land Rights Regulation 1983 is amended:

(a)

by omitting clause 18 (1) (b) and by .-inserting instead the (b) in January each year; and

(b)

by omitting clause 21 (1) (b) and by inserting instead the (b) in February each year; and

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to provide that:

-	members of Regional Aboriginal Land Councils are to be elected by Local
Aboriginal Land Councils in January each year.
-	members of the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council are to be elected by Regional Aboriginal Land Councils in February each year.
