AN ACT to amend section fifteen of the Abattoirs
Act, 1909-1970.
[Assented to 1st December, 1971.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title
| 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Abattoirs | and citation. |

Amendment
| to section 15. | 2. Section 15 of the principal Act is amended by |
adding after subsection (2) the subsections follow-
ing
Ancillary
| trading. | (3) On and after the coming into operation of the Abattoirs Act Amendment Act, 1971, to the intent that the assets of the Board and the services of the Board employees may be utilised to the maximum practicable extent consistent with the making of profits or the producing of revenue, the Board, subject to the Minister, is authorised to carry on any trade that in the opinion of the Board can conveniently be carried on in conjunction with the preparation and processing of meat. |
| (4) The carrying on by the Board of a trade authorised by subsection (3) of this section shall be deemed to be a proper exercise of the powers of management conferred on the Board by this Act notwithstanding that it may be beyond the usual functions of an abattoir. . |
