Act No. 32, 1897.

An Act to revoke the dedication of part of certain lands set forth and described in the Schedule to the Abattoir Road Act of 1860; and to repeal the said Act in part. [6th December, 1897.]

WH E R E A S in accordance with the provisions of and in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Abattoir Road Act of 1SG0,

the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, entered upon the lands then held in fee by certain persons and comprised within the area of the road set forth and described in the Schedule to the said Act, and opened and in due form declared the said road to be a public road for all purposes of a public road : And whereas afterwards, that is to say in and about the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty- four, it was agreed by and between the above-mentioned persons, being also the owners of certain other lands, of the one part, and the Secretary for Public Works on behalf of the Crown of the other part, that in lieu of part of the said road another and more convenient road should be opened and dedicated as a public road through the lands owned by the said persons as aforesaid, and that any dedication for any public purpose of the said part of the first-mentioned road, more particularly described in the Schedule to this Act, should be revoked : Be it there­ fore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. Any dedication for any public purpose (whether in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Abattoir Road Act of 1860, or by user or otherwise) of the area of such part of the road set forth and described in the Schedule to the said Act as is set forth and described in the Schedule to this Act is hereby revoked.

2. The Abattoir Road Act of 18G0 is hereby repealed so far as

it relates to the area of the road set forth and described in the Schedule

to this Act.

3. This Act may be cited as the " Abattoir Road Act Amend­

ment Act, 1897."

Commencing at a point on t h e nor th -wes te rn side of Mil ler-s t reet at t he intersect ion of

the southern side of the deviated Abattoir Road, now known as Bank-street, with Miller- street; extending thence in a north-westerly direction north seventy-eight degrees thirty minutes west for a distance of seven hundred and sixty feet, and being continued round the headland in a curved line to the southern side of the deviated Abattoir Road, now known as Bank-street; thence by that southern side of Bank-street westerly to the southern side of the original Abattoir Road ; thence by that southern side of the original Abattoir Road in a south-easterly direction to the north-western side of Miller-street aforesaid ; thence by that north-western side of Miller-street north-easterly, to the point of commencement.
