His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Technical Education Trust Funds Act 1967, has been pleased to approve the By-law made by the Managing Director of the Technical and Further Education Commission set forth hereunder.

Explanatory note

The object of this By-law is to provide that the Bishop Brothers Memorial Prize is to be awarded on the basis of results obtained in a vehicle building trade course to a student who is under 21 years of age.

This By-law is made under section 14 of the Technical Education Trust

Funds Act 1967.

By-law 1997

In pursuance of the Technical Education Trust Funds Act 1967 and as the Statutory Trustee of the Bishop Brothers Memorial Fund, I make the By-law set forth hereunder and certify that I have had regard to the intentions of the donor of the Fund, as expressed by the trust instrument relating to the Fund.

By-law 1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

(Clause 3)

Clause 17A

Insert after clause 17:

17A Bishop Brothers Memorial Fund

(1)

This clause relates to the Bishop Brothers Memorial

Fund.

(2)

The Bishop Brothers Memorial Prize may be awarded to a student at a TAFE establishment on completion of a vehicle building trade course.

(3)

The recipient of the Bishop Brothers Memorial Prize is

to be the student who:

(a)	is under 21 years of age on the last day for attendance at the course, and
(b)	obtains the highest average of all marks gained in the course by students who are under 21 years of age on the last day for attendance at the course.
