LIQUOR ACT 1982—REGULATION
(Relating to proof of age)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Liquor Act 1982, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1 . This Regulation commences on 1 March 1996.
Amendments
2. The Liquor Regulation 6983 is amended:
(a)
by omitting clause 25B (c) and by inserting instead the following paragraph:
(c)
a passport held by a person, being a passport issued by the Commonwealth or under the law of some other country,
(b)
by inserting in clause 25B after the words “above that age” the words “and only if the document has not expired and otherwise appears to be in force”.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The objects of this Regulation are:
(a)
to limit the various forms of evidence that are listed in a provision of the Liquor Regulation 1983 as acceptable evidence that a person is over 18 (drivers/riders licences and permits, passports and proof of age cards) to those that have both not expired and otherwise appear to be in force; and

| (b) | to delete an obsolete reference in that provision to a Commonwealth Department as the Department that issues passports. |
This Regulation is made under sections 117E (Reasonable evidence of age) and 156
(the general regulation making power) of the Liquor Act 1982.
