JUDICIAL OFFICERS ACT 1986—REGULATION

(Judicial Officers Regulation 1995)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Judicial Officers Act 1986, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Citation

1. This Regulation may be cited as the Judicial Officers Regulation

1995.

Commencement

2. This Regulation commences on 30 June 1995.

Lodging of complaints

3. A complaint is to be in the form approved by the Commission and

is to be lodged with the Chief Executive of the Commission.

Verification of complaints

4. A complaint must be accompanied by particulars of the matter on which the complaint is founded and those particulars must be verified by statutory declaration.

Repeal

5. The Judicial Officers Regulation 1986 is repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to repeal and remake, with no changes in substance, the provisions of the Judicial Officers Regulation 1986. The provisions of the new Regulation deal with the manner and form in which complaints are to be made to the Judicial Commission.

This Regulation is made under the Judicial Officers Act 1986, including section 54

(the general regulation making power) and section 17.

This Regulation comprises or relates to matters of a machinery nature.

This Regulation is made in connection with the staged repeal of subordinate

legislation under the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989.
