GOVERNMENT PRICING TRIBUNAL ACT 1992—ORDER

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, ROBERT JOHN CARR, Premier, in pursuance of section 4 of the Government Pricing Tribunal Act 1992, make the Order set out hereunder.

I certify that the services specified in the Order set out hereunder are

services:

(a)

for which there are no other suppliers to provide competition in the part of the market concerned; and

(b)

for which there is no contestable market by potential suppliers in the short term in that part of the market.

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Government Pricing Tribunal (Waste

Disposal Service) Order 1995.

Declaration of government monopoly service

2. (1) Any service involving the disposal of putrescible waste as

landfill that is provided by the Waste Recycling and Processing Service of
New South Wales in the Metropolitan Waste Disposal Region is declared
to be a government monopoly service.

(2) In this clause:

“Metropolitan Waste Disposal Region” means the areas constituted as a waste disposal region under section 6 (1) of the Waste Disposal Act 1970 as at the date of this Order, but does not include:

(a) the local government areas of Botany, Waverley and Woollahra; or

(b) the Cities of Hawkesbury, Randwick, South Sydney and Sydney.
