GUARDIANSHIP ACT 1987—REGULATION

(Relating to law revision)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Guardianship Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Disability Services and Guardianship (General) Regulation 1989 is

amended:

by omitting from clause 1 the words “Disability Services and Guardianship (General)” and by inserting instead the word “Guardianship”;

by omitting from clause 8 (1) (a) the words “orally or in writing” and by inserting instead the words “in writing, or if it is not practicable to do so, orally”;

by omitting from clause 9 (1) (a) the words “orally or in writing”
and by inserting instead the words “in writing, or if it is not
practicable to do so, orally”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to make amendments by way of law revision. The amendment made by paragraph (a) changes the citation of the Disability

Services and Guardianship (General) Regulation 1989 to reflect the change made to the short title of the Act under which the Regulation is made.

The amendments made by paragraphs (b) and (c) correct incorrect references made in a Regulation that amended the Disability Services and Guardianship (General) Regulation 1989 and that was published in Government Gazette No. 27 of 28 January 1994 at pages 350–354.

This Regulation is made under the Guardianship Act 1987, including sections 40

and 108 (the general regulation making power).
