I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, AC., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 3) 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 24 December 1993 as the day on which item (1) of the amendments to the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991 set out in that Schedule commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced amendment to the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 3) 1992.
That amendment makes it illegal for a person to manipulate the joints of the human spinal column for any purpose unless the person falls within a class specified in section 4 of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Act 1991. Previously that section only regulated such manipulation when it was done for therapeutic purposes.
