STATUTE LAW (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT

(NO. 3) 1992 NO. 111—PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 142 of 24 December 1993]
(L.S.) P. R. SINCLAIR, Governor.

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, AC., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 3) 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 24 December 1993 as the day on which item (1) of the amendments to the Psychologists Act 1989 set out in that Schedule commences.

Signed and sealed at Sydney, this 22nd day of December 1993.

By His Excellency’s Command,

Ron Phillips

Minister for Health.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced amendment to the Psychologists Act 1989 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 3) 1992.

The amendment narrows the current exclusion of medical practitioners from the prohibition against unregistered persons representing themselves as psychologists. The new provision states that the prohibition does not operate to restrict a medical practitioner in the practice of medicine.
