I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Strata Titles (Staged Development) Amendment Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 2 August 1993 as the day on which sections 1, 2 and 3 of, and Part 2 of Schedule 1 to, that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence sections 1, 2 and 3 of, and Part 2 of Schedule 1 to, the Strata Titles (Staged Development) Amendment Act 1993. Sections 1, 2 and 3 are formal provisions specifying the short title of the Act, providing for its commencement and giving effect to the Schedule of amendments to the Strata Titles Act 1973. Part 2 of Schedule 1:

extends certain provisions relating to lots and common property to encroachments shown on strata plans of subdivision

allows land that is divided by, or separated by, certain natural and built features to be the subject of a strata scheme
makes it clear that development consent may be required for a strata subdivision
empowers the Registrar-General to terminate a strata scheme in limited
