LIQUOR ACT 1982—REGULATION
(Relating to the persons who, in relation to a minor, are

“responsible adults”.)

[Published in Gazette No. 169 of 6 December 1991]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Liquor Act 1982, has been pleased to make the

Regulation set forth hereunder.

ANNE COHEN

Chief Secretary.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 16 December 1991.

Amendment of Liquor Regulation 1983

2. The Liquor Regulation 1983 is amended by omitting clause 25A

(d).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Liquor Act 1982 controls the presence of a minor in a hotel. Some parts of a

hotel are the subject of a complete prohibition and minors are allowed in some
other parts only while in the company of a “responsible adult”.

Clause 25A of the Liquor Regulation sets out the persons (such as a parent or spouse) prescribed as being responsible adults and the proposed amendment would remove from those categories “a person who might reasonably be expected to have authority over the conduct of the minor”.
