EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Subordinate Legislation Act 1989 provides for the staged repeal of current regulations and other statutory rules over a five year period. The first such repeal takes effect automatically on 1 September 1991.

However, section 11 of the Act empowers the making of orders to postpone by

one year the date on which specified statutory rules are automatically repealed.

The proposed order is such an order, and postpones the repeal of the statutory

rules specified in the order from 1 September 1991 to 1 September 1992.
