STOCK FOODS AND MEDICINES ACT 1940 - REGULATION

(Relating to the repeal of provisions concerning

stock medicines)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Stock Foods and Medicines Act 1940, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 July 1990.

Amendments

2. The Stock Foods and Medicines Regulations are amended:

(a) by omitting clauses 1 and 1A and by inserting instead the following clause:

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Stock Foods

Regulations 1940.

(b)

by omitting from clause 2 the definition of “The Act” and by inserting instead the following definition:

“the Act” means the Stock Foods Act 1940.

(c)

by omitting from Form 1 in the Second Schedule the words “STOCK FOODS AND MEDICINES ACT 1940” and by inserting instead the words “STOCK FOODS ACT 1940”;

(d)

by omitting from Form 3 in the Second Schedule the words “STOCK FOODS AND MEDICINES ACT 1940 AS, SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED” and by inserting instead the words “STOCK FOODS ACT 1940”;

(e)

by omitting from Form 3 in the Second Schedule the words “Stock Foods and Medicines Act 1940” and by inserting instead the words “Stock Foods Act 1940”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to make consequential amendments to the Stock Foods and Medicines Regulations (which were made under the Stock Foods and Medicines Act 1940) because of the repeal of certain of those Regulations and the amendment of that Act by the Stock Medicines Act 1989.

The Regulations are renamed the Stock Foods Regulations 1940 and references

to the Stock Foods Act 1940 are inserted.
