Western Australia Grant (Beef Cattle Roads)

An Act to amend the Western Australia Grant (Beef Cattle Roads) Act 1962.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Western Australia Grant (Beef Cattle Roads) Act 1966.
(2.) The Western Australia Grant (Beef Cattle Roads) Act 1962 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Western Australia Grant (Beef Cattle Roads) Act 1962–1966.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Years to which Act applies.
3. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the word “three” and inserting in its stead the word “four”.
Grant of financial assistance.
4. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-section (2.) the word “and”; and
(b) by omitting paragraph (b) of that sub-section and inserting in its stead the following paragraphs:—
“(b) in the case of the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four, or the year ending on the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-five—Seven hundred and fifty thousand pounds; and
(c) in the case of any other year—One million five hundred thousand dollars.”.
Certain expenditure not to be taken into account for purposes of Commonwealth Aid Roads Acts.
5. Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end thereof the words “or for the purposes of section four of the Commonwealth Aid Roads Act 1964”.
