VETERANS' ENTITLEMENTS (REPATRIATION PRIVATE PATIENT PRINCIPLES 2004 - NEW MEMBER FOR NATMOC) INSTRUMENT 2006
PURPOSE OF INSTRUMENT
To enable a representative of the Vietnam Veterans’ Federation to be appointed as a member of the National Treatment Monitoring Committee.
The National Treatment Monitoring Committee (NATMOC) is established under Part 5 of the Repatriation Private Patient Principles 2004 (RPPPs) and its role (in conjunction with its State and Territory counterparts) is to assist the Repatriation Commission in monitoring the access to, and quality of, treatment arranged for veterans or their dependants as private patients.
NATMOC currently consists of eight members drawn from ex service organisations listed in the RPPPs. The attached Instrument ensures that the Vietnam Veterans’ Federation is one of those listed ex service organisations that is to provide a member to NATMOC.
RETROSPECTIVITY
None. The Instrument commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
CONSULTATION
Representatives of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs informally discussed the proposal with NATMOC. In any event the Instrument does not affect rights or impose obligations.
