I, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Ret’d), Governor‑General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under item 2 of the table in subsection 2(1) of the Veterans’ Affairs Legislation Amendment (Budget and Other Measures) Act 2016, fix 1 January 2017 as the day on which Schedule 1 to that Act commences.
