UNITED KINGDOM GRANT.

 

No. 28 of 1947.

An Act to grant and apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Twenty-five million pounds as a Grant to His Majestys Government in the United Kingdom.

[Assented to 11th June, 1947.]

Preamble

BE it enacted by the Kings Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, for the purpose of appropriating the grant originated in the House of Representatives, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the United Kingdom Grant Act 1947.


Commencement.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Appropriation of £25,000,000 as grant to United Kingdom.

3. There shall be payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, which is hereby appropriated accordingly, for the purpose of a grant to His Majestys Government in the United Kingdom, the sum of Twenty-five million pounds as a contribution towards war expenditure of that Government incurred by it in respect of operations in and around the Pacific.
