ULUṞU – KATA TJUṮA NATIONAL PARK
PROHIBITION OF ENTRY AT SPECIFIED TIMES
TO PART OF THE PARK
ULUṞU ROCK OUTCROP
I, Dennis Karl Dyason, Assistant Secretary, Parks Australia Division, Department of the Environment and Energy, delegate of the power of the Director of National Parks under subregulation 12.23(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000, having taken into account and being satisfied that access to that part of the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park, being the ‘Uluṟu Rock Outcrop’ (as defined in the Schedule) might endanger public safety, HEREBY PROHIBIT entry to the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop, by all persons at the times specified in the Schedule.
AND I HEREBY REVOKE the previous prohibition made on 15 July 2019 in respect of the area described in the Schedule.

SCHEDULE
Prohibited Area
That part of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park being all of the Uluṟu rock outcrop, as indicated by the shaded area in the plan below (Uluṟu Rock Outcrop).
Prohibited Times
The prohibited times at which the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop must not be accessed are:
(a) from 4.00pm until 7.00am on the following day from 18 October 2019 to 25 October 2019;
(b) after 8.00am on days when the forecast maximum temperature for Yulara, Northern Territory issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology at 4.30pm the previous day is 36 degrees Celsius or greater;
(c) when the actual temperature at the base of the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop is 36 degrees Celsius or greater;
(d) when more than 20% of the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop surface is wet due to rainfall;
(e) when there is a greater than 20% chance of rain in the subsequent 3 hours at the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop;
(f) when there is a greater than 5% chance of thunderstorms in the subsequent 3 hours at the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop;
(g) when the wind speed at the summit of the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop exceeds 25knots;
(h) when cloud covers the summit of the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop; or
(i) when the rescue of a person from the Uluṟu Rock Outcrop is in progress.
