Subregulations 12.23(3) and 12.23A(3)
ULURU-KATA TJUTA NATIONAL PARK
PROHIBITION AND REVOCATION OF ACCESS TO CERTAIN AREAS
AND UNDERTAKING OF CERTAIN ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE PARK (NO.2)
I, Dr James Findlay, Director of National Parks, acting pursuant to subregulations 12.23(3) and 12.23A(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000 (Regulations), having taken into account and being satisfied that access to certain areas and undertaking of certain activities in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (Park) might endanger public safety, HEREBY PROHIBIT:
1. the entry to areas in the Park specified in the schedule to this prohibition (Schedule); and
2. the undertaking of activities in the Park specified in the Schedule,
by the persons and during the times specified in the Schedule;
AND I HEREBY REVOKE, under subregulations 12.23(3) and 12.23A(3) of the Regulations, the prohibition I made in relation to access to certain areas and the undertaking of certain activities in the Park, dated 25 March 2020.

SCHEDULE
1. Terms used in the Schedule
Unless the context requires otherwise, terms used in this Schedule have the following meanings:
Biosecurity Determination means the Biosecurity (Human Biosecurity Emergency)
(Human Coronavirus with Pandemic Potential) (Emergency Requirements for Remote Communities) Determination 2020 made under the Biosecurity Act 2015 dated 26 March 2020, as amended from time to time and includes any replacement of that determination having substantially similar effect.
Designated Area has the meaning given to that term in the Biosecurity Determination.
Essential Activity has the meaning given to that term in the Biosecurity Determination.
Park means the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory, being a 'Commonwealth reserve' proclaimed under Part 15 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
Regulations means the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000.
2. Prohibited areas
All areas that comprise the Park.
3. Prohibited activities
Entering the Park, and being in the Park.
4. Prohibited persons
All persons excepting
a. residents of the Park and the invited visitors of those residents, provided all those persons are entitled to enter a Designated Area, and come into contact with other persons within a Designated Area, under the Biosecurity Determination;
b. persons engaged in an Essential Activity in the performance of their duties, and complying with the requirements of the Biosecurity Determination for conduct of such an activity; and
c. persons who transit the Park, without stopping in the Park, except for an emergency, via Tjukaruru Road, Kata Tjuta Road and Lasseter Highway, provided those persons are otherwise entitled to transit Designated Areas under, and comply with the requirements for transit within, the Biosecurity Determination.
Note: Certain other classes of person will also be exempt from this prohibition by operation of subregulations 12.06(1), 12.23(2) and 12.23A(2) of the Regulations.
5. Prohibited times
At all times that this prohibition is in effect, and for that purpose this prohibition commences on the date and at the time on which this prohibition takes effect pursuant to law, and ends at 11:59pm ACST on 18th June 2020.
