TORRES STRAIT FISHERIES ACT 1984 TORRES STRAIT FISHERIES REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT)

Schedule 2 to the Torres Strait Fisheries Regulations prescribes short methods of reference that may be used to describe an area of Australian jurisdiction within the Torres Strait Protected Zone. Item 5 of the Schedule provides a short method of reference for the area of the turtle fishery.

The purpose of the amendment is to rectify an omission from the description of the metes and bounds of the area of the turtle fishery by specifying Latitude 11º10’00” South, Longitude 141º01’00” East as the point of commencement.
