Telecommunications Technical Standard

(Radio Equipment and Systems for DECT—

ACA TS 028 – 1997)

THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, makes the following technical standard under subsection 376 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Title

 1. This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 028 – 19971.

[NOTE:  This Standard takes effect on gazettal:  see Telecommunications Act 1997 s. 376 (5).]

Definitions

 2. In this Standard:

“ACA” means the Australian Communications Authority;

“customer equipment” has the meaning it has in the Act;

“DECT” means the cordless telecommunications system called Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications;

“the Act” means the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Standard for customer equipment to be connected to a telecommunications network that has SDH interfaces

 3. For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for customer equipment for use in a DECT system is the standard set out in the document known as “ACA TS 028 – 1997” approved by the ACA on 10 December 1997.
